Coach & Skills Instructor - SSA/Gameball
Joel Hannagan is the president of GameBall Sports located in Garden City, Kansas. Joel Hannagan was born and raised in Southwest Kansas. He graduated from Lakin High School in 2001, and received a scholarship to play basketball at Garden City Community College. After GCCC, he left and went to Barton County Community College to finish his junior college career. He then earned an opportunity to play basketball at a Division 1 school named South Eastern Louisiana in the South Land Conference. Joel had the opportunity to play for Billy Kennedy, the head coach at Texas A&M, and Steve Prohn, the head coach of Iowa State University. He finished his playing career at Henderson State University in Arkansas.
Joel started his coaching career in Fort Worth, Texas, at North Crowley, one of the power houses in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro plex. Under Tommy Brackle, Joel moved on to Woodrow Wilson in Dallas, Texas. There he was under Pat Washington, where Joel had the opportunity to train and work with professional athletes, such as Anthony Randolph, Trey Davis, and others. Joel received his first head coaching job in Belmar, New Jersey at Central Jersey Academy each one teach one. The coaching experience at the New Jersey academy, gave Joel the knowledge and the plan to start his own prep school in Des Moines, Iowa named Kingdom Prep Academy. This gave Joel the opportunity to recruit his own players, do his own scheduling, and play all over the country. Through Joel's head coaching career, he produced five division 1 players to schools such as Tulsa, Western Kentucky, Morgan State, California State at North Ridge, and Coastal Carolina. Today, Joel still has four active players. Playing at Nichols State University is Stevie Repichowski, Brian Mortan at Emporia State University, and Michael Warren at Cal State North Ridge. One of his players, Fredrick Edmond, is playing professionally in Canada and was a two time junior college All American.
Joel is the head coach of the 15U and 17U SSA/Gameball Elite Girls teams.
